H4H2 is set for May 22, 2010!

 

We are already deep into planning for H4H2 — the 2nd Annual Hands for Haiti Half-Marathon & 5K Road Races. The date is moved up this year to May 22, 2010.


As you know, the devastation of the January Haitian earthquakes have left more than 150,000 dead, tens of thousands injured (including countless children) and possibly a million people are homeless and destitute.  Your participation in H4H2 this year will be just as fun as last year, but significantly more important.

Can you help prepare Haiti Relief Kits? To make these desperately needed kits of personal hygiene products, please place the following items inside a sealed, Zip Lock®-style one-gallon plastic bag:

» 1 hand towel (15”x25” up to 17”x27”). No kitchen towels.

» 1 washcloth

» 1 comb (large & sturdy, not pocket sized)

» 1 nail file or fingernail clipper (no emery boards or toenail clippers)

» 1 bath-size bar of soap (any brand, 3 oz. and up)

» 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in individual wrapper. No child-sized brushes)

» 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages

» $1.00 in cash to purchase toothpaste. UMCOR is now purchasing toothpaste in bulk to be added to health kits before shipping to ensure the product does not expire before they are sent.
